IN ORDER TO GET STARTED.. YOU MUST HAVE A USB CABLE THAT IS DESIGNED FOR THAT DEVICE. YOU ALSO MUST HAVE A COMPUTER, AND YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THE NECESSARY FILES TO TRANSFER THEM INTO THAT PHONE.
The Two blackberry's that cannot be configured on our network are the blackberry storm and the blackberry storm 2. The model numbers are anywhere in the 9500 and 9600 series of the phones and they are both from verizon. Again these cannot be configured on our network.
UNDERSTAND THAT THE DESKTOP MANAGER IS THE APPLICATION USED SO THAT YOU CAN TRANSFER FILES INTO THE PHONE... AND THAT THE MINI OPERA IS NOT TO BE OPENED IN THE COMPUTER, BUT RATHER IS THE INTERNET SETUP BROWSER WHICH IS TO BE OPENED IN THE DEVICE.
1) First, you need to download the blackberry download manager.
If you have a Macintosh, select for mac, if you have a PC (windows) select download for PC.
DoubleClick on the “.exe” file and install the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
2) Then you need to get the necessary files for the opera mini 5.
You are going to download the version of mini opera which is specific to the type of phone model you are using. Please go to this link, and download your specific version.
Download Opera Mini (Choose your model)
Click On Save - (Place the downloaded “ZIP” file into the desktop)
Locate the “ZIP” file on your computer (desktop)
Right-Click on the file and Click on “Extract All” to obtain the operette-hifi-en-us-nojsr75.alx
3)On the blackberry desktop software you would need to go to applications and import files
4)look for opera mini and click on the Plus symbol (+) to the far left. and install it : IF YOU RECIEVE AN ERROR MESSAGE WHEN YOU PRESS THE (+) PLUS SYMBOL. CLICK ON THE SCREEN AGAIN TO REFRESH IT AND OPERA MINI SHOULD APPEAR IN THE INSTALLATION LIST
5) If you noticed at the very bottom of the screen you will see the application summary
6) Make sure opera mini reads and it says install next to the application.
7) Apply all settings and sync.
8) Once installed go to the blackberry downloads file and install opera mini
9) Make sure you check that Wi-fi is off and all your t-mobile service books are deleted (Options > Advanced Options >Service book)
10) Go to Options > Advanced Options > TCP/IP. Be sure there is a check mark for APN Settings Enable and for the APN type “simple” Then click on the Blackberry menu button and choose “Save"
